Sorry I missed the last meeting. I was just so exhausted. We've been pulling some crazy hours at work. Plus I got the book three days before the meeting. I ordered it weeks ago, but it was delivered by slow boat to China apparently. I'm half way through Stolen Child and loving it.
Happy Holidays
See you in Jan.
Loria
Hi Loria -- We missed you! I'm listening to the audio of The Stolen Child every day to and from work, and I'm loving it too.
Happy Christmas, hohoho!
I haven't gotten around to "Stolen Child", yet. Working to finish some books on religion in school - I'll probably write up a summary somewhere. Then "An Alien Light" by Nancy Kress is next. After that it's Mr Donohue's turn.
I finished An Alien Light, which was very cool, very Nancy Kress. (Have we read anything by her as a group, yet?)
Now, on to The Stolen Child. I've already started, and it sounds like it'll be great!
Hey folks -- If, like me, you're having trouble getting ahold of a copy of Starfish by Peter Watts (everywhere I look it's either out of print, too expensive because it's an out of print edition, or too smelly to handle... and you know how I am with smelly books...), anyway, you can download the entire novel in pdf format at the author's website: http://www.rifters.com/real/shorts.htm. How cool is that? The publisher drops it, so the author simply makes it available for free at his site. I'm impressed already.
